Although we specialise in scuba diving, we have had
several
groups of fishing-persons
having great fun on the boat. Pemba lends itself to
good flyfishing
and
trawling.
The Pemba channel, which runs between Pemba and mainland
Tanzania, offers some of the best fishing waters off the
East African Coast.
The most prevalent species are: Giant and Bluefin kingfish/trevally, Dorado, Skipjack tuna, Mackerel and Barracuda.
We recently explored the waters of Mafia island again. Although the weather wasn't very pleasant, fishing was definitely excellent! This group of South African fishing enthusiasts really showed 'em with 4 Sailfish, lots of Dorado, Wahoo, Giant Trevally, Barracuda and many more.
